Last night I had zero interest in the World Cup.  It felt like when the world comes together for the Olympics except this time there’s only one event and it’s a sport I don’t like.  But then this morning, out of nothing more than boredom, I educated myself a bit on the month again and the stakes involved with the US team and my interest was suddenly piqued.  So I asked my good buddy, Josh Patten, to catch me up on everything World Cup.  His email reply was a perfect break down.  It was so thorough and well explained that I asked if I should share it.  If any one of you are fence-sitting on whether or not to give a shit about the World Cup, read on…
